If you fly Alaska Airlines soon, you may be pleasantly surprised by the upgraded in-flight dining experience. In May, the airline expanded its culinary offerings in both economy and first class.
Now, in the main cabin, travelers enjoy more than double the number of pre-order options originally offered. New breakfast offerings include a smoked salmon bagel, while new lunch and dinner options range from a chicken mango wrap to a banh mi salad.
In first class, travelers enjoy five entrée choices on cross-country routes and flights to and from Hawai’i. New dinner options include ginger beef stir-fry noodles and lemon fennel manicotti. Vegan options are also available for pre-order and some flights now offer printed menus and glassware in first class.
“We’re always looking to spark joy with great food and drink on board our flights, delivering a delicious meal or craft beverage with care as part of our award-winning service,” said Todd Traynor-Corey, managing director of guest products, Alaska Airlines. “What our guests have to say is important, and they told us that more food and beverage variety would be great, so we set out to make that happen. We’ve worked hard to give our guests of all ages a wider selection of food, from classic comfort food to more healthful options all while representing the vibrant flavors of the West Coast.”
