Japan looks forward to new hotels and resorts set to open throughout the country in 2022.
Set to open Jan. 14, 2022, in Hokkaido, the resort is the latest addition to Hoshino Resort’s KAI collection of ryokans. The property blends local culture and modern comfort. All 42 rooms in the resort will boast views of Lake Poroto within the forests of Hokkaido. The onsen is filled with Shiraoi water, a rare onsen water containing organic minerals from plants. Experience the local Ainu culture with nearby attractions including Upopoy National Ainu Museum and Park.

Situated among the local trees and waterfalls, Danish architecture group Third Nature designed the luxury campground. The resort will feature three main areas: a rest area with circular cabins and glamping tents, an area for excursions and workshops, and an area where guests can pitch their own tents.
