If you are not from the East Coast, when you hear Jersey shore, you may think about the famous MTV show of the same name. If that’s the case, your idea of the Jersey shore is completely off. The beach towns of New Jersey are much more than running around town getting drunk and causing trouble.
Although it is at its prime during summer, a trip to the Jersey Shore in the off season is perfect for a quick trip or a weekend getaway. Since it’s the off season, some shops and restaurants are closed, but there is still plenty to see and do.
Take a trip to Cape May and explore Cape May Brewery. Take an expert- or self-guided tour and get an inside look at how beers are made. Go behind the scenes and see how Cape May Brewery came to be and lastly grab a cold one and enjoy some of the best beers in South Jersey.
Next, travel to Margate City and tour the famous Lucy the Elephant. Lucy has been around since 1881 and changed a lot throughout the years. Lucy the Elephant is only open until the end of December so make sure you get there before she closes for the season.
Of course, there are always the boardwalks. Some of the most popular boardwalks are Ocean City, Atlantic City and Seaside Heights. Although not all the stores and restaurants will be open it is still a nice place to take a stroll and get some of the best views of the ocean.
