The JW Marriott name is synonymous with luxury worldwide, and JW Marriott Cancun has never been an exception, but the recently completed renovation of its 447 ocean-facing rooms and suites under its New Point of Blue campaign ushered the property to a new level of Caribbean refinement in one of Mexico’s most sought-after destinations.

Capitalizing on the property’s coveted, pristine beach, the redesigned rooms and suites bring Caribbean blues indoors to accent the sandy creams and whites of the serene, open layouts. Paying homage to the wider region, look out for striking marbled-blue accent walls behind free-standing soaking tubs, evoking aerial views of the famed Mexican cenotes drawing scores of visitors to the Yucatan annually. Elsewhere throughout the rooms and property, indigenous Maya culture is represented through elaborately woven textiles and hand-carved art and furniture made from local, reclaimed woods.

To assist in easing into the ultimate getaway, the JW Lobby Bar recently debuted its 150 Margarita program featuring four categories of Mexico’s signature cocktail: classic, modern, fusion and exotic. The mind-boggling array of options includes margaritas made from both tequilas (silver, reposado and añejo) and mezcal, including specialty infusions of black tea, beetroot, serrano chili pepper and other surprising ingredients.

And, for total tranquility, the JW Marriot Cancun’s renowned spa includes Maya-inspired ritual treatments among more traditional massages and wraps. Spa facilities also include a stunning indoor pool with ocean views along with steam rooms, a fitness center and fitness classes.
