Kimpton Hotel Arras

My husband and I stayed at the recently opened Kimpton Hotel Arras in Asheville, North Carolina, for a one-night stay. We were visiting Asheville with friends, and arrived to the city a day earlier than the group, so we opted to stay at the conveniently located downtown hotel before meeting our friends. The prime location is steps away from many of Asheville’s popular attractions, including restaurants, breweries, art galleries and boutiques.

We arrived after check-in time and made our way to the front desk. The friendly attendant checked us in and gave a few recommendations of local places to see. We went to the elevator bank to head to our room. There is a touchscreen where guests enter their floor, as opposed to doing so inside the elevator. My husband said he encountered this system before, but it was new to me.

Our room on the eighth floor was at the end of one hallway, near the corner of the building. The room boasted two queen beds, a large desk with multiple outlets, a bench, full-length mirror, minibar, large television and a closet with amenities including robes and a yoga mat. The bathroom near the front door featured a sliding barn door. There was a standing shower and large vanity. WiFi is complimentary for guests.

There is a restaurant and a bar on the lobby level, plus in-room dining. Since the location is so close to numerous restaurants, we opted to venture out for dinner. After returning to our room, we wanted one more drink, but didn’t feel like going back downstairs, so we enjoyed local beer from the minibar. The beers were reasonably priced for a minibar, not to mention convenient.

We left fairly early in the morning and the check-out process was swift. Our stay was not nearly long enough. I would love to spend more time at the Kimpton on our next visit to Asheville.
