La Casa Que Canta

La Casa Que Canta is a secluded paradise in Zihuatanejo, along Mexico’s southern Pacific coast. Unlike the resort capitals of Cancun and Los Cabos, popular with the spring break and guys’/gals’ getaway crowds, Zihuatanejo maintains the feel of a small Mexican town, largely because it’s still populated mostly by Mexicans, and the hotels here are primarily boutique, unlike the larger properties found in nearby Ixtapa (a fun daytrip for a more urban experience while staying in charming Zihuatanejo).

There are four room categories here (almost half have their own plunge pools) but each suite is entirely unique, not just in layout, color palette and materials, but most noticeably in art. The suites and public areas of La Casa Que Canta are rich in one-of-a-kind, handcrafted art from pottery and painting to sculptures and textiles, weaving tales of Mexican heritage at every turn. And then there’s the art of service, which truly sets this property apart. Because of the detailed attention to each unique suite, service training takes three months at La Casa Que Canta, as housekeepers learn the minute details required for every inch of the property and all staff become fluent in helping guests feel as though they’re they only people on site the masters of this unbelievable house that sings.
