Málaga, Spain, is the largest city along the famed Costa del Sol, a popular stretch of beaches on the country’s coast that is a favorite among LGBTQ+ travelers. With more than 300 days of sunshine, the region attracts a diverse community and is one of the most welcoming in Spain. Málaga is no exception.

The beautiful coastal city is more of a transport hub than relaxing destination, and serves as the starting point for visitors. The nearby town of Torremolinos is the true gay getaway along the Costa del Sol, and only 20 minutes away by car. The Málaga Cathedral and the Roman Theater are two of the oldest structures in town, and a must for any fans of Spanish history. There’s also the Museo Picaso, which features more than 233 of the famous painter’s works.
