Trends / LGBTQ

As one of the more traveled islands in the South Pacific with an increasingly gay-friendly community and culture of its own, Tahiti is an easy option for your next getaway. You may already know all about the island’s beauty and attractions, but there are a couple specific destinations worth a visit.

Papeete

Located on the island of Tahiti, Papeete is actually the capital of French Polynesia. The friendly port offers fresh food carts filled with local produce by day, and a slew of activities by night. Enjoy shops like Marché de Papeete, a market selling homemade goods and jewelry — with a healthy pearl industry, it would be wrong not to.

Mo’orea

Known for its jagged volcanic mountains lining pristine sandy beaches, Mo’orea has enough outdoor activities to go around. Head out on Opunohu Bay kayaking, snorkeling and swimming, or hike to Belvedere Lookout with endless views. Between the rainforests, clear-blue waters and designer vacation packages available, Mo’orea is a nature- and luxury-loving traveler’s dream.

The South Pacific consists of an array of truly remarkable islands, one more picturesque than the next. The tranquil waters, white sand, swaying palms and stunning cabanas lined with bright sunshine are as amazing as they seem. Travelers of any orientation can enjoy the Tahitian waters and white sands on their next romantic getaway.

Long wait times and confused drivers are just a few bothersome issues that can nag at rideshare users. Need a solution? Ditch rideshares altogether in favor of renting a car on your next trip.
