Trends / LGBTQIA+

Tzell Travel Group recently conducted a survey to discover LGBTQ+ travel trends through 2019.

According to the study, Paris emerged as the No. 1 destination for solo LGBTQ+ travel, followed by London and Mykonos. Emerging destinations for 2019 include Budapest, Denver, Buenos Aires and Tokyo. The top eight solo travel destinations include Puerto Vallarta, Amsterdam, Sitges and Sydney.

The top LGTBQ+ family destinations for 2019 appear to be Fort Lauderdale, Provincetown, Hawai’i, San Diego, Phoenix, London and Paris. The top LGBTQ+-friendly cruise lines for the coming year include Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Disney Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line and Uniworld Boutique River Cruises.

“LGBTQ+ travelers are looking for destinations and hotels with their community in mind. They want to be able to travel where they would like, while still being accepted and treated the same as anyone else,” said Keith Wein, travel advisor, Tzell.

“Suppliers underestimate the importance of LGBTQ+ sensitivity training for their staff and team. An LGBTQ+ couple should never feel indignity; they should always feel welcome to their hotel, resort or cruise line,” says Kelli Carpenter, travel advisor, Tzell.

The survey was conducted among Tzell’s LGBTQ+ specialized travel advisors.
