El Ateneo Grand Splendid
Located in Buenos Aires, this bookstore is housed in a former theater. The building still contains beautiful frescoes on the ceiling, theater boxes and grand curtains, all with rows of books lining the aisles.
Libreria Acqua Alta
This book boutique in Venice utilizes the city’s popular canals for its store, with books placed in boats and gondolas. The steps up to the store are made of old encyclopedias for an Instagram-worthy moment.
Livraria Lello in Porto, Portugal, boasts stained glass windows, spiral staircases, intricate woodwork and bronze decorations. It is rumored to be the inspiration for J.K. Rowling’s depiction of Hogwarts in Harry Potter.
Though not really a secret, this quirky bookshop specializes in comics and graphic novels. Meticulously displayed, works come from independent and mainstream publishers. The exterior looks more like a detective agency than a bookstore.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network. The airline added new non-stop flights between Newark (EWR) and Marrakesh (RAK), Morocco; Tokyo (NRT) and Cebu (CEB), Philippines; and Houston (IAH) and Medellin (MDE), Colombia. That’s not all: United also plans to increase flights to popular worldwide destinations including Hong Kong (HKG); Seoul (INC), South Korea; and Porto (OPO), Portugal. Following the recent agreement to increase flights between the U.S. and Chinese governments, the airline now adds four weekly flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai (PVG).
