The Guild House Hotel, a boutique hotel in the heart of Philadelphia, announced it officially launched its online booking platform in anticipation of its June 6 opening date. The Guild House Hotel will be housed in a historic landmark, The New Century Guild, previously used as a hub for education, entertainment and activism in the early 20thcentury.
Founded in 1882, forward-thinking, independent female abolitionists, suffragists, artists and writers used the building. The Guild House Hotel will celebrate that legacy, including in the 12 suites inspired by the iconic female leaders from that time, and amenities provided by women- and minority-owned businesses. June 6 also marks the day the original New Century Guild opened its doors 115 years ago.
Coffee will be provided by Sip & Sonder, a Black women-owned entrepreneurial and creative hub; the tea will come from Blushing Wren, a Philadelphia-based, woman-owned business sourcing locally and sustainably grown ingredients. Fork & Melon, a clean line of skin and body care products, will craft the bath amenities.
Key design features of the hotel include leaded glass windows, ornate fireplaces, wood paneling and antique light fixtures. ROHE Creative, a Philadelphia-based, woman-owned interior design studio, led the renovation.
Rates will be determined by seasonality and demand, but will average $250–600 per night, with Junior, Queen Quarters, King Salons and deluxe suites available.
National Best Friend Day is June 8, so now’s the time to plan how to celebrate your bestie. The recently opened The Ven at Embassy Row in Washington, D.C., offers one option with its Celebrate Your Bestie package. The hotel boasts a stunning rooftop pool and a prime location in Dupont Circle, so gather your closest friends and plan a visit to the nation’s capital.
