Destinations / Europe

Termini Station is one of Europe’s largest stations and essentially the main entry point to Rome for anyone traveling by rail, bus or plane. All roads lead and end here, and it definitely gets hectic.

Roma Termini opens at 4:30 a.m., to allow people to get to work, and closes late, at 1:30 a.m. It sees nearly 500,000 people coming and going each day. Tickets can be found on the ground floor, along with a few small stores and coffee shops. Below ground is where you’ll find the metro buses. Both the “A” and “B” lines are here.

Train travelers will notice the tracks are labeled Binari Nos. 1 through 24. Binara No. 1 starts on the left and continues numerically to No. 24 on the right. It’s important to line up ahead of time for your train, with ticket in hand — they will not wait for you.

When leaving the station, you’ll find the buses parked outside across a small street. Be sure to purchase a ticket from the machine in the station as the drivers will not sell you one. Many of them don’t speak English, and won’t be able to guide you. If you prefer taking a taxi, exit the main entrance of the station. It’s large and easy to spot. Outside is chaotic and it can be difficult to nab a cab.

Going the Distance: Which Airports Have the Longest Walks?

You’re in between flights and ready to find a coffee and your next gate and settle in. But then you find the signs to your gate and look down the impossibly long corridor and wonder how you managed to have the gate at the opposite end of the airport.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
