New Luxury Tourism Destination: Thailand

Luxury travel is typically synonymous with expensive and fancy. Travelers of this vein have been known to fork over hundreds and maybe even thousands of dollars for penthouse hotel rooms with sensational views, multi-course dinners in only the most lavish of restaurants and private tours and transportation in high-brow vehicles.

Luxury travel has entered a new era, however, combining comfort and style with rugged adventures and remote locations. Thailand, in particular, plans to represent this niche of travel with an initiative to market itself as a destination for luxury travelers.

GTA and the Tourism Authority of Thailand teamed up and agreed to a “travel partners pledge” to promote the Southeast Asian nation as a luxury tourism destination. Thailand’s reputation as a desirable country to visit increased greatly in the past few years and is projected to grow even more in the near future.

The presence of luxury accommodations and tour services throughout the country contributes to the goal of attracting more luxury travelers to the region. Although prices of lodging may see an increase as the country gains more travel interest, spending time as a tourist in Thailand is incredibly affordable. Delectable street food, budget-friendly tour excursions and inexpensive buses and trains between regions of Thailand make a luxury vacation easy on anyone´s travel budget.
