If you’re traveling to Thailand this summer, you might want to book a stay at one of the country’s brand-new hotels and resorts. You have two new options to choose from — and visiting Thailand is easier than ever.
The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon opens this month as the brand’s flagship property in Asia. With more than 150 guestrooms, the property has a lot to offer. The hotel features multiple restaurants, including a tea room, American steakhouse and the highest al fresco rooftop bar in the city. Be sure to take a dip in the terrace pool while you’re there.

Meliá Chiang Mai opened in April, boasting 260 guestrooms and the highest rooftop bar in Chiang Mai. The property offers all of the traditional luxury you know to expect from the Meliá brand if you’ve stayed at one of the brand’s properties in the past.
Whether or not you pick either of these great places to stay for your Thailand trip, you’ll likely be glad to know the country removed the pre-arrival and arrival RT-PCR testing requirements for international visitors. Fully vaccinated international travelers are now required to register for a Thailand Pass and show vaccination proof and proper insurance coverage, but, upon arrival, they’ll be allowed to enter the country and travel around with no testing required.
