Did you know New York has the most ski areas in the United States, with more than 50 skiing destinations? If you’re keen to try them out, you’ll have even more fun new ways to ski in Upstate New York this winter thanks to new ski resort additions and enhancements throughout the region.
In the Adirondacks, Gore Mountain unveils a new lodge. The 18,300-square-foot North Creek Ski Bowl Lodge will offer a ski lift, restaurant and two levels of new patio. The mountain is also upgrading more than 70 cabins on the Northwoods Gondolas.
Also in the Adirondacks, Whiteface Mountain expanded its Bear Den Learning Center with an eco-friendly heated patio. A new detachable quad lift also makes skiers’ experience more convenient.
In the Catskills, Belleayre Mountain celebrates its 75th anniversary and expands its Discovery Lodge with a 28,000-square-foot expansion. Not too far away, Holiday Mountain completes $5 million-plus in improvements, with three new trails, including one new trail that is now the steepest in the region. Other improvements include a rebuilt quad chairlift and new snowmaking capabilities.
