With so many electronics now a part of our daily lives, it makes sense for our luggage to adapt. The Numi Smartpack is designed to keep your gadgets charged throughout the day, without the need for a wall socket. Thanks to a solar panel and internal battery pack, the Numi lets you charge on the move.
With 20-liter and 30-liter versions available, you can choose the Numi that best suits your needs. Both have integrated laptop sleeves, but the 30-liter bag has a bigger battery and more space for clothes and other items.
The problem with the Numi is that it only charges using USB ports. This means most laptops and cameras cannot be charged. While it’s good to be able to charge your smartphone on the move, most people use a small portable battery pack until they get to a socket.
If you are going on a long trip away from main power, the Numi is of limited use. You’ll need a more serious piece of kit if you want to charge laptops and cameras.
However, if you are a heavy user of smartphone battery and you are going on a short trip, perhaps the Numi could be of some use. The 20-liter bag will cost $220 and the 30-liter $255 after a successful Kickstarter campaign is completed.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network. The airline added new non-stop flights between Newark (EWR) and Marrakesh (RAK), Morocco; Tokyo (NRT) and Cebu (CEB), Philippines; and Houston (IAH) and Medellin (MDE), Colombia. That’s not all: United also plans to increase flights to popular worldwide destinations including Hong Kong (HKG); Seoul (INC), South Korea; and Porto (OPO), Portugal. Following the recent agreement to increase flights between the U.S. and Chinese governments, the airline now adds four weekly flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai (PVG).
