Kixby, an accessible boutique hotel in Midtown Manhattan, recently launched a brand-new literary program: Kixby Book Club, which represents a loyalty program, on-site experiential offering and a way to give back to New York Public Library, all rolled into one.

Located quite near New York Public Library’s Stephen A. Schwarzman Building at Bryant Park, a portion of the proceeds from members’ spend in Kixby Book Club will directly benefit the library in an effort to support local literacy. The book club offers four membership tiers: Novella, which is entry level, through to Masterpiece, the top level. Member perks will include things like special discounts; book-themed, V.I.P. welcome gifts; personalized experiences; and more.

The hotel also created a Lobby Lending Library, allowing travelers to check out a curated selection of books during their stay. The first month of the program in May was created in conjunction with literary podcaster and expert Traci Thomas, including titles like Seven Days in June by Tia Williams, Empire of Pain by Patrick Radden Keefe, New People by Danzy Senna, Trick Mirror by Jia Tolentino and Chain-Gang All-Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah.

Kixby offers 195 guestrooms, as well as The Lookup rooftop bar, Black Tap burger joint and Lot 15 cocktail bar.

Low-Cost European Airlines Required to Increase Carry-On Bag Limit

In fact, these airlines’ hidden fees are so well masked, some savvy travelers have even concocted funny hacks to beat the system (like one man who put on several layers of clothes).
