Oceania Cruises has long been known as a top-tier cruise line when it comes to onboard culinary experiences, but the line is taking things to the next level on its latest ship, Allura, set to debut this July.
More specifically, the ship’s main dining room will offer a revamped experience, with nearly 300 new recipes featured across the restaurant’s three meal services. New featured menus include a full signature eggs benedict selection at breakfast; a lunch menu with French inspirations; and a dinner menu offering reimaginings of standard cruise ship dining room fare, such as beef wellington and lobster.
Of the new menus, Executive Culinary Director Chef Alexis Quaretti said, “In crafting these new dishes, I drew deep inspiration from my childhood, family life and of course, from across my career, including collaborations with renowned Chef Jacques Pépin, our culinary patriarch. Other inspirations for new menu items are especially personal, such as the Mousse au Chocolat de Marnie Huguette, which uses my grandmother’s cherished recipe and is re-created with the same care and precision she taught me. This dish, like every creation served on board our ships, embodies a simple philosophy: honor the past, savor the present and focus on flavors which leave a lasting impression.”
Otherwise, Allura will please traveling foodies with its broader selection of included restaurants, as well as its hands-on culinary center, Chef’s Studio and one chef for every 10 guests on the ship.
