Streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime are leading the charge against traditional cable services, but there are more options for consumers than just these big three.

A good streaming service will be up ront about the options it presents without trying to pull the wool over your eyes. Couple honesty with lots of options that appeal to you, and you have a worthwhile service.

VRV jumps to the top of my list thanks to the eclectic arrangement of content it offers for a convenient pricing model. VRV Premium costs $10 per month and includes access to the full libraries of a number of different, specialized streaming services.

VRV includes access to Shudder. This service is home to television, movies, documentaries and more. There is original content as well, so you will find more than 80s exploitation films, but you will definitively find those, too. For individual plans, Shudder starts at $3.99 per month.

VRV is also home to Nicksplat and Boomerang. Nicksplat features the great Nickelodeon shows of the 90s, including Rocko’s Modern Life, All That and Ahhh! Real Monsters. Boomerang offers access to everything from old-school Looney Tunes to Courage the Cowardly Dog. On its own, Boomerang will run you $4.99 each month.

Crunchyroll and Funimation both offer tons of anime, with some overlap. Shows like Dragon Ball Super and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure await on these platforms.

If your tastes lie in live-action shows and movies, Viki is the place to watch Korean dramas, and houses everything from historical dramas to romantic comedies.
