Get your tiki on this summer with new experiences from Omni Hotels & Resorts. Properties around the country collaborated with Jeff Berry, tiki historian and owner of New Orleans’ Latitude 29, to provide tropical cocktails and pop-up bars through Labor Day, in a season-long event the brand is calling Tiki Social.
Pop-up bars will be open only at select properties, though tropical cocktail menus will be available at every Omni hotel or resort. As for the pop-up bars, they’ll be open to both guests and the public, with extended opening hours on weekends. The tiki bar menu will include eight cocktails and two mocktails, with selections ranging from The Coconutty Islander, served in a coconut and containing a mixture of rum, passionfruit liqueur, macadamia liqueur and coconut water, to the Totem’s Kiss, with its rum, allspice liqueur, lime, orange and cinnamon.
“Tiki has always been about transporting people, if only for a moment, to someplace sunny, breezy and far from the everyday,” said Berry. “Working with Omni Hotels & Resorts on Tiki Social let us bring that sense of fun to all kinds of spaces, whether you’re lounging at a resort or ducking into a city bar after work. These drinks were designed to make every sip feel like a mini vacation.”
