Orchid Lovers Won’t Want to Miss Most Prestigious Orchid Show This March

Whether an avid orchid collector or simply appreciate the beauty of this iconic flower, make for The Santa Barbara International Orchid Show this March. Now in its 77th year, this show showcases grand orchid displays installed by local, national and international growers and artisans.

This year’s theme, Exotic Gardens, will be woven throughout orchid art exhibits, photography, floral arrangements, workshops, demonstrations and special events, taking visitors on a journey through the vibrant beauty of orchids and its natural environments. 

Highlight events include the Kokedama Workshop with Alex from Raiz Feliz Plant Shop and orchid-mounting workshops. A V.I.P. tour guide experience includes entrance to the show; a guided, 45-minute tour by an American Orchid Society judge explaining the show’s history and pointing out winning orchids and displays; orchid information card and orchid review card to determine your favorite type; show program; and express entry.

Other events include Orchid Serenity – Yoga & Sound Bath by Santa Barbara Beach Yoga and Foxy Sage (March 6). For $45, this event offers a 45-minute yoga session, sound bath and tea. On March 7, take part in an epicurean SB Exclusive Private Chef Dinner in the orchid gardens. Orchids After Dark features drinks, music and live painting with wine by Danielle Renée.
