The time has arrived! We are in full holiday swing. And, as usual, some meal planning is going to have to happen. Perhaps 2018 brought about a change in diet or attitude toward eating. Or perhaps you or a loved one are trying something new. Whatever your reasons, it is clear the paleo lifestyle and lower carb and sugar diets have become popular, so you might just want to try out a couple of new recipes this holiday season, even if you don’t have to.

For something seasonal, try these pumpkin blondies. These come straight to you from the kitchen of Not Enough Cinnamon and, although they have a fair number of ingredients, they are also delicious and the payoff is worth it. Don’t let the ingredient list scare you off because the actual recipe is fairly straightforward.

If you would like something fancy, try these paleo shortbread bars from A Saucy Kitchen. They contain not just a shortbread layer, but a caramel and chocolate layer, too. These are little more complicated than the blondies, but they offer some serious panache.

Another good hack to keep in your back pocket is a standard pie crust, which this recipe delivers perfectly and in only five ingredients. With this in your arsenal you can create an easy fruit pie, more complicated cream pie or savory spinach pie in no time at all.
