Embarking on outdoor winter adventures usually involves some sort of handwear, whether they be gloves, mittens or a fingerless variety of cover-up to keep your hands warm but your fingers free for taking photos. For such occasions, ski gloves can be too bulky and basic mittens aren’t always enough to keep you warm, but a pair of thermal gloves may be just the middle-of-the-road solution.

Known for creating hardcore cycling gear, Pearl Izumi is a well-respected clothing company that sells clothing and accessories for road cyclists, mountain bikers and triathletes. The company’s Thermal Lite line of gloves weigh only 1 pound and cost only $20.

The Thermal Lite gloves can be worn in nearly all climates: They can serve as a layer underneath heavier gloves in extremely cold temperatures, or they can be worn as a lightweight option during slightly warmer weather when you need your dexterity. Lined with a P.R.O. Thermal Lite fabric, they’re warm enough to keep your hands moving, and silicone-screened fingertips allow for optimum grip.

Pearl Izumi products can be purchased on Amazon.com or on the company’s website where they offer free shipping for orders of more than $50.
