Let’s face it, we want to bring our pets with us everywhere. How much fun would work be if you could cuddle with your dog while sending emails? Unfortunately, there are many places people can’t bring pets, but more cities are making themselves pet-friendly for those who are tired of sending their fur baby to a pet hotel.
Destinations that are pet-friendly usually have many parks and restaurants catering toward pets. For example, the city of San Diego has 16 off-leash parks and food establishments that are pet-friendly. This entices travelers to make memories in great cities along with their trusted companions. Some might plan an entire trip around the possibility of their pet having just as much fun as them. Also in San Diego is a dog beach where dogs are encouraged to run and swim and enjoy the beach — along with their owners.
It makes sense Portland, one of America’s most walkable cities, would be pet-friendly. Home to more than 30 off-leash parks, feel free to let your dog run wild. Off-leash parks are great because your pet is free to explore and do whatever they want. There’s no leash to hold them back. In addition to many restaurants allowing pets to accompany their owners, Oregon wineries host an annual “Canines Uncorked” tour that allows wine enthusiasts to enjoy wine and their furry friend.
