Ridding yourself of thousands of sanitary pads and tampons can save you heaps of money over the course of your lifetime and also help cut down on waste, thus helping you save the environment in your own way. The travel industry has embraced the menstrual cup for years, but the device is only recently making its way into mainstream feminine hygiene. Among the now-numerous brands of menstrual cups is the Pixie Cup, an alternative to pads and tampons when menstruation comes around each month.

The 0.48-ounce cup is made from BPA-free, FDA-approved, medical-grade silicone and can be re-used for years. Once inserted, the cup can stay in place for up to 12 hours and can be worn during a variety of activities such as yoga, swimming and biking. Tampons can hold between 5 and 10 milliliters of fluid, but the Pixie Cup can hold up to 25 milliliters of fluid, which can be discarded into a toilet after removal.

The Pixie Cup can be purchased on Amazon.com for $15.95 or on Pixie Cup’s website starting at $15.95. Prices vary depending on the size (small, medium or large). The cup comes with a soft storage bag, one clean reusable cup and instructions. What’s more, when a Pixie Cup is purchased, the company donates one to a woman in need.

Leave Troublesome Rideshare Worries Behind

We can see it now and remember when it happened to us: Watching as the black car icon loops around and around, seemingly endlessly, and our wait time on the rideshare app continually changes. Long wait times and confused drivers are just a few bothersome issues that can nag at rideshare users. Need a solution? Ditch rideshares altogether in favor of renting a car on your next trip.

Bitter Cocktail Bar, Barcelona

Barcelona has seen a recent influx of craft cocktails bars within the past five years or so, and Sant Antoni seems to be one of the city’s epicenters of such swanky watering holes. Amid the crisscross streets, organic grocery stores and the soon-to-open, recently renovated Sant Antoni market is Bitter, an inconspicuous cocktail bar where there’s more than meets the eye.
