This cutlery set packs down into a tiny pipe for easy transportation and storage. If you are off on a camping trip or just don’t like to use public cutlery, this could be a great way of taking your utensils with you.
When it’s not in use the Qutlery set looks like a pen, with a handy clip for storage. Pull the pipe apart, however, and you will find a knife, fork and two chopsticks.
The S6 series offers all three utensils, while the S8 series only contains a knife and fork. Both are made from stainless steel and rely on precision manufacturing techniques for strength. The S8 set will retail for $182, while the S6 goes for $174.
That may seem like a lot of money for some travel cutlery, but the quality of these pieces is second to none. For example, the knife is made at a traditional workshop in Kyoto, manually sharpened by experienced craftsmen.
This is a highly specialized product, but it looks like it should be a success. Kickstarter users seem to think so, pledging more than $10,000 to get the project off the ground, and the sets are due to ship out in May.
