Stay Dry with a Pangea Travel Towel

Lugging around a big bathroom towel on backpacking trips isn’t realistic, but that’s where travel towels come in.

Polyester versions have been available for years, offering good absorption in a format that can pack down for easy transportation. Pangea takes that idea and makes it sustainable thanks to the use of biodegradable bamboo, which decomposes in less than a year. The plants also grow back in about six weeks after cutting, so the source of the material is easily replenished.

Not only is bamboo better for the environment than traditional microfiber towels, it is also more absorbent and dries five times faster. That means no more packing away a terrible-smelling, damp towel.

Pangea even comes in a handy carry case with a carabiner, so you can attach your towel to the outside of your rucksack. It is attached to the towel at all times, so you’ll never lose it.

Choose from the pocket-sized towel, which measures 40 centimeters by 60 centimeters, or the standard size, which comes in at 70 centimeters by 120 centimeters. Prices for the Pangea towel start at $22, and deliveries are expected in April following a successful Kickstarter campaign.
