PUBLIC, an Ian Schrager hotel in New York City, recently created a curated gourmet picnic experience for guests to enjoy this summer and early fall. Called chicnics, a cool kid term for chic picnics, guests can bask under the New York sun and soak up these last few weeks of summer before fall arrives.

Through the picnic basket program, guests and locals can order one every weekend. Guests can even order the basket from their room phones and come down to pick them up within seven minutes!
Picnic baskets include a chef’s selection of cheese and meat with toasted sourdough, a bottle of rosé, hummus and crudité, and chocolate chip cookies. Picnic baskets cost $95 each and can be enjoyed in the park with friends, family or that special someone.

The picnic baskets are put together at Louis to Go, the hotel’s modern food service providing high-quality dishes without high prices or long wait times. Guests can simply press 0 on their room phones and choose from a diverse menu, from miso soup to ceviche bowls to signature sandwiches to pan pizzas.
If guests prefer an alternative experience, PUBLIC offers BBQ experiences every Sunday at 4 p.m. at PUBLIC Roof. Here, guests can enjoy a barbecue with burgers, hot dogs, ice cream and more. Reserve a spot at the BBQ here.
