Looking forward to the 2019–2020 ski season, but worried about the cost? You’re not alone. The National Ski Areas Association says 8.5 million individuals have “given up” on skiing or riding in the last decade, with the top reason being cost. The average weekend lift ticket prices are $131.

If you plan on hitting the slopes a lot this season, consider purchasing a multi-resort ski pass that gets you into a multitude of ski spots across the country. The Indy Pass, now on sale for $200, gets you into 34 independently owned resorts across the United States with two-day lift tickets at each resort, for 68 total days of skiing. The Indy Pass is considered ideal for beginning skiers who do not yet have a loyalty to one particular ski area and those who travel frequently and want to try slopes in new areas.

“Largely ignored by the mega resorts, up-and-coming skiers now have a pass with almost no barrier to entry,” said Geoff Hatheway, president, Magic Mountain in Vermont. “The Indy Pass is priced right for anyone to try; it has a wonderful variety of interesting ski areas to explore; and showcases the community aspect of skiing which can create deeper bonds with customers and more ski days in the future.”

“Independent resorts are the heart and soul of North American skiing and anything that provides more access and exposure to these hidden gems is something we’ll support,” added Ken Rider, general manager, Brundage Mountain Resort, Idaho.

The Indy Pass gets travelers into 14 ski areas and resorts in the western United States and Canada, eight ski areas and resorts in the Midwest and 12 ski areas and resorts on the East Coast.
