There are more than a few good reasons to head to Scotland this year.
Glasgow celebrates its 850th anniversary this year. As such, the city has a huge array of special events going on throughout the year, and attractions will host experiences you won’t find during just any trip.
Multiple new experiences and museums open up around the country, as well. The Inverness Castle Experience in Inverness will showcase the castle’s history and make this spot a must to visit in 2025, even if you’ve visited during a past trip. In Renfrewshire, Paisley Museum will re-open following an extensive renovation (Fun fact: This town is where the pattern got its name).
It’s not a trip to Scotland without a fair amount of whisky. You’ll have plenty of new opportunities to sample the spirit, with several distilleries opening in 2025, including The Lerwick Distillery, Highland Park Distillery, Eden Mill Distillery and Ardgowan Distillery. Edinburgh Gin Distillery is also opening, if whisky’s not your thing.
During your explorations, you’ll likewise have new spots to stay, with a range of new properties opening their doors this year, including Supercity Aparthotel and The Hoxton, both in Edinburgh.
