Located on a flat corner in Barcelona’s Poble Nou neighborhood, a site for many a tech startup or already established tech giant (like HP Enterprise and Booking.com), Sopa serves as a perfect lunch spot during the workday. The cafeteria-style eatery lets you fill up on vegetarian and vegan dishes and either dine in, take the food outside to the patio dining area or take it back to the office for a lunchtime meeting.
A spacious indoor area is well-lit by windows on three out of four sides of the restaurant, with views of the spacious outdoor dining area. Orders are taken at the counter, and due to heavy lunch rushes during weekdays, dining before or after lunch hours is the best strategy to avoid waiting in line.
The daily menú del día (menu of the day) is served 12–4 p.m. Rotating dishes make up the menu that includes a starter (usually a few choices of soup or a few choices of salad), the choice of one of three hot dishes and a water, for €9.90, or about $10.75. In addition to the daily menu, Sopa also serves à la carte items like sandwiches, quiches, freshly squeezed juices, muffins, yogurt and lots and lots of coffee.
The refrigerator and snack areas display well-known organic and/or vegan/vegetarian brands of drinks, cookies, chips and other snacks.
