During a recent visit to New Orleans, my group and I stayed at The Old No. 77 Hotel. The boutique property is conveniently located a short walk from the French Quarter in the Warehouse Arts District.
We arrived to the hotel in the afternoon and the check-in process went quickly. Our room was located in the Lafayette wing, on the third floor. The modern guestroom was simply decorated with muted colors, unique artwork, exposed brick and dark wood accents. There was complimentary WiFi, robes, a large desk and a king bed. The bathroom door featured a half window with the letters “WC” written in gold.
Staying at the hotel for several nights, we experienced different noise issues. Our second morning, someone was banging on the door next to our room for a long time, which woke us up. Another night we were kept up by the sounds of the bar located on the corner. The final morning of our stay we were also woken up early by a phone alarm so loud it sounded like it was in our room. The property could benefit from soundproofing measures.
The property features a fitness center and an award-winning restaurant, Compère Lapin, both on the ground floor. We enjoyed dinner and nightcaps at the restaurant bar.
All in all, it was a pleasant stay at a conveniently located hotel with a great restaurant.
