Reviews / Restaurant

Tyber Creek Wine Bar & Kitchen is a little restaurant tucked away in a quiet neighborhood in Washington, D.C. You might not even notice it because it blends with the houses; I almost walked right by. My friend found the restaurant on Yelp and it lived up to the reviews.

Tyber Creek offers an inviting atmosphere, great dishes and friendly service. If you are looking for a delicious brunch and bottomless mimosas, this is the place to go. Make a reservation; they take walk-ins, but, depending on the time of day, the only open spots may be the bar.

The menu has an array of options, but the Cast Iron Cinnamon Rolls caught our eye. The table next to us said they were fantastic; we couldn’t resist and ordered them to start, along with the bottomless mimosas. We were both stuck between the buttermilk biscuit sandwich and the breakfast platter, so we ordered one of each to share. Our food came out quickly and was delicious, we loved every bite.

The bottomless mimosas have a two-hour limit, so once we were done eating we hung around a bit to enjoy them. The staff is attentive and will fill up your glass before you are finished the one you have. You definitely get your money’s worth.

If brunch isn’t your thing, stop by Tyber Creek Wine Bar & Kitchen for dinner and its impressive wine list.

The Argosaronic Islands Are Calling

The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips.
