We all know speaking in front of a large group — even if it is full of family or coworkers — can bring on a certain amount of jitters. With that in mind, Riggs, Washington, D.C. appointed its first choreographer in residence and speechwriter in residence. The experts will be available to assist Riggs guests in preparing for important events.
Couples booking a wedding package at Riggs will have the option to add on the services of both, while groups holding meetings at the hotel have the opportunity to work with the speechwriter in residence.
Dan Roberge, choreographer in residence, will work with couples for an agreed upon number of sessions to choreograph a beautiful first dance. Roberge is a company dancer with The Washington Ballet. Originally from Australia, he previously performed at the White House in 2010, and has performed choreographic works by dance greats.
Jacob Maccoby’s speechwriting services are available to those giving a prepared toast at wedding festivities or for guests presenting in one of the hotel’s meeting spaces. Maccoby is a well-known speechwriter who advised three presidential campaigns, two attorneys general, cabinet officials, U.S. senators and other high-profile executives. He was the chief speechwriter for Attorney General Eric Holder and regularly appears as a guest on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and CNBC.
“Riggs Washington DC is an elegant venue for weddings, and our team of specialists are experts in handling the intimate details, from designing bespoke menus to liaising with preferred vendors to help create these memorable occasions,” said Abe Liao, general manager. “But we also know there are moments that make your day extra special, like a show-stopping first dance or a toast that brings the room to happy tears. By partnering with Dan and Jake, both leaders in their respective fields, a wedding at Riggs offers that something unique to make your day memorable for both you and your guests.”
