Scandinavian Airlines will unveil its Flavors by SAS food and beverage concept. Launching Oct. 1, the new service will offer passengers a more varied, globally inspired culinary offering, coming first to the new European business class and later to lounges and intercontinental flights.

“While SAS has always been about bringing Scandinavia to the world, this new concept, Flavors by SAS, brings the world to Scandinavia, incorporating bold and diverse flavors inspired by Europe, the U.S., Asia, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean,” said Aron Backström, vice president Product & Loyalty, SAS.
Flavors of SAS builds on the New Nordic concept launched in 2017, with Flavors by SAS bringing a broader, more global perspective. SAS’ in-flight dining is evolving, just as customer preferences evolve. SAS will also introduce a more flexible dining approach to adjust meals based on flight time, service needs and available space to create a smoother dining experience.

Flavors by SAS includes new menus, a tiered meal service, rolling menu rotations, the flexible dining approach, the introduction of porcelain tableware and an elevated presentation in business class. It also helps reduce food waste, prioritize local sourcing and minimizing plastic packaging.
“SAS’ innovative dining approach and rotating menu system sets a new standard in inflight dining, providing a flexible, customer-centric alternative to traditional static menus. This dynamic model positions SAS at the forefront in innovation and adaptability within airline food and beverage service,” continued Backström.
