The top mountain resort in the Mid-Atlantic region, Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia is open for the season, kicking off ski activity for the state.
“It feels great to get the winter season kicked off on time and on the right foot,” said Shawn Cassell, spokesperson for the resort. “We spent nearly $4 million this past summer on snowmaking upgrades and now…we’re already seeing the impacts of that investment. We’ve got about a dozen trails open, over 40 acres of terrain so far and we plan to add more soon. If the weather continues to cooperate, we should be able to expand terrain significantly…”

In celebration of Snowshoe’s 45th anniversary, you’ll get 45 percent off your fourth night when you stay through March 20. The offer is not valid during the weekend ahead of Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 18–20, President’s Day weekend or Feb. 15–17.
