Val d’Isere has long been a favorite among British skiers, making it the ideal destination for English speakers to enjoy a winter vacation. The resort boasts an impressive amount of ski routes, reliable snow and is located in the breathtaking French Alps.
The resort is also a partner of Vail Resorts, so if you’ve got your hands on an Epic Pass you already have an excuse to go. The area offers a total of 78 lifts and roughly 300 kilometers of groomed slopes. There are plenty of beginner options available alongside off-piste adventures for those with experience, including the famous La Face de Bellevarde. More than 60 percent of the runs are above 2,200 meters with a vertical drop of 1,900 meters. Even on seasons with little snowfall the resort remains a prime destination thanks to it snowmaking factory on site.
Visitors are also often charmed by the small village of Val d’Isere itself. The tiny hamlet offers top-quality, Michelin-starred restaurants, luxurious accommodations and a beautiful atmosphere. During the summer months it’s also an outdoor paradise thanks to nearby Vanoise National Park.
Whether you’re an avid skier or just want to explore the French Alps, there’s perhaps no better place to do so than iconic Val d’Isere.
