The vibrant Little Italy neighborhood in San Diego, California, celebrates summer with exciting community events throughout the season.

The neighborhood’s popular summer block party returns June 17 and 18. Held from 4 to 8 p.m., this culinary adventure brings visitors through 48 square blocks of the neighborhood, with a full lineup of local restaurants serving bites and sips.
This family-friendly event takes place July 2, 4–8 p.m. Channeling the streets of Italy with an open-air market vibe, this event features kid-friendly activities like face painting, dozens of local vendors and live music.

Every Wednesday and Saturday, the neighborhood hosts a market featuring fresh produce, handmade goods and local food vendors. The market runs 8 a.m.–2 p.m. on Saturday. The smaller version on Wednesday is open 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. The market is open year-round, rain or shine.
Outdoor Dining and Shopping
Little Italy invites hungry diners to enjoy a meal alfresco this season. Restaurants throughout the neighborhood offer prime outdoor seating for guests to take in views with their meal. Consider a visit to Coco Maya, Frost Me Bakery & Café, Above Ash Social and Kettner Exchange. Browse through the neighborhood’s unique shops, galleries and boutiques including Stroll, Bluza Boutique and Atacama Surf Shop.
