Sporthotel St. Anton Review

Reviews / Hotel

The Sporthotel in St. Anton offers comfortable accommodations just steps away from the center of town. Its easy access to cable cars makes it the perfect spot to stay if your only concern is hitting the slopes as soon as possible.

There’s no getting around the fact Sporthotel is dated. The rooms, while spacious and comfy, seem to have been decorated in the 1980s, untouched since. The hotel claims it’s Alpine-style, but it’s awfully reminiscent of my grandmother’s basement. However, the bed was comfortable if not luxurious, and my stay here was quiet when it mattered. On site there were plenty of amenities, including a spa, pool and a sauna. The restaurant served pretty great food, which was a pleasant surprise. It rivaled every restaurant I managed to sample in town.

The staff is where Sporthotel really shines. Exemplary and helpful, they never missed a beat when it came to answering questions or providing assistance of any kind. Check-in was a quick process and they even offered room to store my ski equipment and delivered it to the lobby when I was ready to head out to the slopes.

While the rooms need an update, I would suggest a stay here just for the excellent food and great staff alone.
