Dining/Entertainment

Wishing for a bit of nostalgic travel? How about a cocktail bar with a twist? Think childhood comfort foods and beloved cafeteria classics but with a grown-up flair. That’s exactly what you’ll get at places like The Corner Store in New York, which serves fancy pizza rolls, and Milday’s, which offers fun Jell-O shots. But now, a new kind of nostalgic spot just hopped on the trend: Sakesy’s in Detroit debuts a a new, one-of-a-kind cocktail menu.

Located in a storied space and set to the greatest hits of the 1970s, Sakey’s invites guests to unwind, spend time with friends and rediscover the joy of going out. NoHo Hospitality Bar Director Darryl Chan and Head Bartender Tara Wong channel nostalgia through the bar menu.

Guests can order drinks such as the Dirty Snow Cone, a delicious grown-up twist on the beloved summer treat, or the Root Beer Negroni that transforms a childhood favorite soda into a bittersweet cocktail.

The bar doesn’t stop at just the cocktails; small bites include Bugles elevated with caviar and house-made accompaniments, and a Cap’n Crunch Berry Sundae that turns the favorite childhood cereal into a shareable dessert.
