Rome is a magical place to study abroad. It’s a popular destination among students because of the culture, history and food. Rome is Italy’s most popular destination for travelers and attracts millions of people every year. Students rave about the time spent in the city and, for most, it creates a lifelong romance between the student and the city. Studying here gives students the unique opportunity to explore some of the world’s most beloved and iconic landmarks and monuments all while earning credits toward their degree of choice.

From an academic standpoint, Rome is an amazing choice for many different majors. Anyone studying one of the liberal or fine arts will find Rome a welcoming city for them to further their education and expand their knowledge. Rome is also a great place for students in STEM majors as well. The city is home to one of the largest universities in the world and has many major libraries.

Outside of the classroom, the city teems with educational opportunities. Learn about the Colosseum and Vatican City firsthand by visiting these locations and interacting with locals. There’s something to be said about seeing the buildings in real life after reading about them for years in textbooks. Beyond the most popular monuments, Rome is an explorer’s paradise with catacombs, bridges and statues.

Rome is a popular gastronomic destination. Students speak highly of the pasta and gelato because Rome offers some of the best. It’s a great city to try new foods and to visit farmers markets to buy fresh ingredients for cooking. There’s also a good selection of wine that originates from Rome.
