Among the myriad concerns the everyday traveler may have when approaching any trip, safety and security are most likely the most important, but protecting yourself from both bodily harm and petty theft can distract you from the real reason for your travel: to escape daily life and immerse yourself in another culture. Therefore, it makes sense to invest in travel accessories that can perform multiple functions, like carrying your gear while also protecting it with state-of-the-art security features.

The Swissgear 1900 ScanSmart backpack is a travel backpack equipped with the aforementioned security aspects to keep your valuables safe while you’re on the go. The ScanSmart lay-flat technology allows the backpack to be placed on its back for easy scanning at TSA security checkpoints. The main compartment of the backpack holds laptops up to 17 inches and is secured by rugged, oversized zippers. A floating TabletSafe tablet pocket protects your tablet, as well.

Other security features include a front quick-access pocket to keep your valuables within reach and reflective material for nighttime safety.

Regular retail price is $74.99, but the Swissgear 1900 ScanSmart backpack can be found online for sale prices as low as $55.99 and comes in six color combinations.
