If you’ve already seen and loved the new Downton Abbey movie, why not immerse yourself further in the Downton world with a United Kingdom tour based on its plot line? Zicasso, a luxury travel service, has just the thing with its 10-day, private, Downton Abbey Movie Tour.
Guests on the tour spend the first four days in London. Points of interest include the Bridgewater House in Westminster, the Savile Club and Harrods — all spots you can see in the show or movie. Of course, in the spirit of the film, guests will pay a visit to royal spots including Malborough House, St. James Palace and Westminster Abbey. A lunch at The Ritz is also included, where travelers will take an etiquette lesson led by a former royal butler.
After a day at Windsor Castle, it’s off to Highclere Castle, otherwise known as the “real Downton Abbey.” Guests enjoy a full tour and then afternoon tea on the lawn.
Toward the end of the tour, guests dive into England’s Cotswolds region, with visits to Lacock Village and Bampton, where special spots on the itinerary include filming locations. Guests even get to see the surroundings from up above, thanks to a hot air balloon excursion.
Following, guests travel north to the Beamish Open Air Museum in County Durham, before visiting Harewood House, displaying a special collection of Princess Mary’s personal items.
The tour starts at $3,995 per person, for a private group of four individuals traveling together. The tour price includes nine nights of accommodations, daily breakfast, all transfers, private drivers in some instances, tours, classes and experiences.
