Broadway offers a bunch of types of shows that appeal to a bunch of different audiences. They have holiday shows, shows for families, adults and many more. I haven’t seen many Broadway shows, but I do have a bunch on my list I would like to see. A couple weeks ago I attended The Book of Mormon with my cousin and aunt. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The play is mainly about young Mormon missionaries traveling all over the world to convert people to their religion. It specifically follows two young men, Elder Price and Elder Cunningham, on their mission in Africa. They are sent to a poor village where the citizens don’t have a positive outlook on life. Elder Price and Elder Cunningham try everything they can to convert them, but soon Elder Price gives up. Elder Cunningham starts making up the history of the Mormon religion to make it more appealing to the village and eventually gets caught.
The Book of Mormon is funny and entertaining. The songs are catchy and the cast is phenomenal; I highly recommend seeing this show.
Fair warning, The Book of Mormon is not for everyone. At points throughout the show there are inappropriate jokes, crude humor, and it can be offensive to some people, so make sure you do your research before purchasing tickets.
