The Bungalows at Kenzo Hall officially opened to guests last month. The bungalows feature 10 luxury accommodations in Kenzo Hall, a 22-room lakefront hotel operated by Western Catskills hotel and restaurant group Foster Supply Hospitality. The name pays tribute to the bungalow colonies in the Catskills from the turn of the 19th century, when Jewish farmers around the region began renting cottages to seasonal travelers escaping the cities. In the 1950s, many of the Bungalows offered full-service amenities like meals and entertainment.
The Bungalows provides guests a feeling of privacy compared to staying at the Main Inn. The Bungalow also has its own sense of place, community and energy. The property boasts its own exclusive Tummler, also known as an activity director, who assists with booking in-room Hemlock Spa treatments, dining experiences, and other games and activities during cocktail hour.
There are eight Bungalow Kings, one Two-Bedroom Bungalow and one Grand Lake Bungalow. Each features a private entry with a porch, a living room, en-suite bathrooms, soaking tubs and gas wood stoves. The Grand Lake Bungalow includes a spacious king bedroom with a private porch and a large multipurpose room that can serve as a party room or executive working space. The room is perfect for large gatherings and parties.
Travelers staying in the Bungalows enjoy access to Kenoza Hall’s large on-site restaurant overlooking Kenoza Lake, as well as Hemlock Spa, the pool, hot tub, sauna and seasonal activities. In the winter, take advantage of snowshoeing and ice fishing, as well as hiking, swimming, canoeing, fishing and more in the summer.
