Ireland is often thought of for its green pastures, historical castles and picturesque country villages, but it is seldom thought of as an ideal destination for water adventures. The truth is, however, the country is surrounded by water and that means ample opportunities to explore the rugged coastline from a different point of view.

Hook Head Adventures, operated by The Irish Experience, is helping to bring a different perspective to the beauty of Ireland. The company offers a variety of experiences for exploring the waters surrounding the Hook Peninsula on the southeastern tip of the country. The location offers stunning natural scenery and is known for its famous lighthouse sitting atop Hook Head overlooking the ocean.

Experiences with this tour company are hands-on and led by experienced local guides who can give you an insider look at the local coastline and its history. Some of the tours available are a sea cave kayaking experience, a sunset kayaking experience and a ‘coasteering’ experience. This coastal canyoneering adventure involves suiting up and diving off the limestone bluffs of Hook Head to explore the local sea caves and local marine life below.

Tours are available for both small and large groups and all the equipment you’ll need is available for rental from the company. You just need to show up with your adventurous spirit. If none of the company’s pre-curated itineraries match your interest, they can also help you customize a tour specifically for your group’s needs.
