Sponsored by Alitalia © It’s about the journey, and on Alitalia’s Premium Economy cabin, there’s ample amenities to ensure peace of mind. That ease of travel begins before the flight takes off, with an additional baggage allowance of two complimentary bags, and priority check-in and boarding.

Tips / Travel

It is advisable to create a pre-travel checklist, whether it be a preventative measure or to keep your thoughts and personal items organized. Here is a checklist of things you need to ensure you have ready prior to travel.

  • Travel insurance is important because anything can happen when you travel. Having travel insurance will make going to the doctor easier if you ever have a health scare abroad.

  • Medication is important to have when traveling, especially if the lack thereof will be detrimental to your health and well-being. Be sure to check if your medications are allowed in the country you will visit; if not, find out what the best substitutes are.

  • Vaccination is required by a lot of countries prior to your arrival. To help prevent the contraction of diseases or viruses be sure to get vaccinated as a preventative measure.

  • Passport, visas and your identification card should be the most important pieces when you pack as you’ll need them to pass through airport security and customs. Ensure your passport is up-to-date and know the visa requirements for the country you’re visiting. Make copies!

  • Accommodation info will better help you navigate the airport to your stay.

  • Money can be in the form of cash or card. Cash is better as your banking company may charge you every time you swipe.

  • Pack appropriately for the weather and the length of your stay.

  • Tech gadgets such as cameras, chargers, phones, laptops or tablets

  • Adapter or charger that works in the country you’re visiting

  • An itinerary will help to keep your trip organized and may create a sense of structure.

  • Notify your bank of travel plans, dates and counties you plan to visit so they don’t place a lock on your card.

  • Travel-sized toiletries

  • Accessories

Review: Bobby’s Free Speakeasy, Barcelona, Spain

As the speakeasy hype continues to take the world by storm, Barcelona opened its fair share of clandestine watering holes, which you’ll only know about with some prior research. A simple barbershop in Eixample (near Plaça Catalunya) is seemingly inconspicuous, but, upon entry, it’s easy to tell the hair salon isn’t just a place to get your ears lowered.

Leave Troublesome Rideshare Worries Behind

We can see it now and remember when it happened to us: Watching as the black car icon loops around and around, seemingly endlessly, and our wait time on the rideshare app continually changes. Long wait times and confused drivers are just a few bothersome issues that can nag at rideshare users. Need a solution? Ditch rideshares altogether in favor of renting a car on your next trip.

Under $100: San Antonio, Texas

Traveling is hard if you are strapped for cash, but there are plenty of places in the United States that offer budget-friendly fun. If you are looking for a place to getaway where you won’t have to spend too much money, head to San Antonio, Texas.

Enjoy the Open Road on Your Terms

For most of us, time in the car is “me time.” You can listen to that podcast you’re captivated by, blast that pop song and sing along at the top of your lungs or listen to the next chapter in that biography e-book you’re almost finished. A road trip only amplifies those opportunities. So, next time you’re traveling by road, take the wheel and take control. Opt for a rental car on your next vacation, rather than a rideshare, taxi or public transportation, and enjoy the open road on your own terms.
