The Gilded Iguana Surf Hotel, in Nosara, Costa Rica, recently launched its new Dance Academy, offering guests and locals the chance to experience and embrace Costa Rica’s dance culture.
Each month throughout the year, guests can participate in a series of dance lessons to connect with the rhythm of the region. With the first series kicking off this month, classes will be led by Darryl Cayasso Dixon, a dance expert and choreographer from Limón. Dixon is renowned for preserving and celebrating Afro-Costa Rican heritage.
The 1.5-hour class highlights the movement, expression and tradition of Costa Rican dances. Every month, a different dance expert hosts a week of classes for travelers and locals alike.
