Thompson Savanah, the brand’s first in Georgia, recently opened along the banks of the Savannah River. Location at the junction of Savannah’s historic district and its newest neighborhood, Eastern Wharf, the hotel honors the city’s vibrant history and local community.
Boasting 139 guestrooms, 21 of them suites, the guestroom tower is purposefully perpendicular to the river, giving all rooms sweeping, west-facing views of the city or expansive, east-facing coastal vistas. To capture the southern landscape indoors, design features include botanical accents, jewel tones and custom stone tile patterns. Amenities include walk-in showers, residential-style vanities, minbars, oversized custom art pieces and custom bath amenities from D.S. & Durga.
“This neighborhood strikes the perfect balance for visitors looking to experience all the magic that Savannah has to offer from both a historical and a modern lens,” said Matt Graham, general manager, Thompson Savannah. “Our riverside setting allows guests to take in Savannah’s burgeoning waterfront scene while also providing a timeless destination just steps away from the bustle of the city. We couldn’t be more thrilled to officially welcome guests to our property.”
The restaurant collection, led by executive chef Robert Newton, boasts rooftop spot Bar Julian; signature restaurant Fleeting; and poolside lounge Sunroom. Off the lobby, a grand staircase leads to the second-floor pool deck, with daybeds and private cabanas. A riverside event lawn and 10,000 square feet of event space are perfect for any type of function.
