Pick the Season Wisely

Ideally, the best seasons to travel through Europe are spring, summer and fall. Winters in some locations, and even fall, can be brutal as there is usually snow, sleet, fog or a lot of rain. When backpacking, you ultimately want the best weather conditions and not gloomy atmospheres to slow you down.

Accommodations

Once you’ve made a plan, book your accommodations in advance. If you’re on a budget, be sure to look for the best hostels in the safest locations at the best prices. If you’re planning to use Airbnb or a hotel, check out areas close to some of the activities you planned.

Attend as Many Events as Possible

Experience Europe throug events. Across the continent there will likely be an event at any given time wherever you may go. They could be celebrating a time in history, hosting carnivals or festivals. Attempt to plan your trip around at least one major event in any country.

Budget Wisely

Know how much money you have to spend and allocate a daily budget for yourself.

Make a Sensible Packing List

And stick to it. Research the terrain of the countries you plan to visit, the expected weather conditions, and leave your expensive and important accessories at home. If you don’t absolutely need it, do not bring it. Don’t forget medication.

Transportation

The best way to travel throughout Europe is by train. You can purchase a Eurail pass. Select the price best for you and know your limits on how frequently you can travel on it, and how long the pass lasts.
